As the name implies, this technique utilizes a two-note alternating pattern for playing chord accompaniment. This technique has been utilized in Folk and Country music for the past sixty year. It is now popular in more contemporary styles of music.

The first bass-note is played (plucked) and then the full chord is played. Then the second bass-note is played and then the full chord is played.
