Chord Skill Development I
We have covered a lot of ground in a very short period of time. This is the first of two
Skills Development drills that will assist you in mastering the numerous chords and progressions.
Four progressions are illustrated. Each progression provides a review of Dominant 7th (V7) chords
resolving to the to a temporary Tonic (I). Each progression should be played twice and then ends
on the Tonic chord. ![]()
Notice the ( : ) symbol at the beginning of each progression. This is the "repeat" Symbol.
Another "repeat" symbol is located in the third measure of each progression. This tells us to repeat
the material between the "repeat" signs one time. Then play the last measure to finish the progression. |
